Cannabis, famously known as Marijuana or Ganja in its herbal form or Hashish in its resinous form, is the source of a psychoactive drug produced from parts of the Cannabis sativa plant. Marijuana has been used for recreational and religious purposes for centuries. However, in the long run it often causes problems with memory and learning, distorted perception trouble with thinking and problem solving, loss of motor coordination, and increased heart rate.
Ultimately, several things about Marijuana are debatable - addiction, medicinal properties, whether it promotes cancer or whether it prevents cancer etc. But perhaps the most dreaded fact about this drug is that it is considered to be a gateway to other more dangerous drugs such as heroin, cocaine, brown sugar etc.
