While on the haunt for Maul, Rex a clone of Jango Fett suddenly turns on her and she is forced to make the decision to let the former Sith assassin go or to save her friend. In the end, she chooses to save her second-in-command. She is forced to knock him out so she can pull the biochip from his head. Years after using her survival skills during Order 66, Ahsoka joins forces with the ghost crew who had joined what would eventually become the Rebel Alliance. Sometime later on the Sith world of Malachor, Ahsoka, having come to terms with the idea of her former master having become Darth Vader, puts herself between him, a newly blinded Kanan and Ezra, giving them time escape.
She confronts the friend she believed to be dead for 15 years and is almost killed as a result. Also, her survival skills kicked into high gear.

Obviously, the larger storyline of Star Wars doesn't allow for this kind of pivot, but the brilliance of The Clone Wars finale is that because it floats the possibility, it makes Revenge of the Sith doubly tragic.
Ahsoka's only other option in "Shattered" was to sell-out Anakin to the Jedi Council. If she had said, "Hold up guys. Remember Darth Maul? He told me Anakin is gonna kill everyone," she might have been ignored. But if Mace Windu and the Jedi had hadn't been caught, as Palpatine said, "off-balance," they might have been saved.
