The place is good for your first job in England or new location. It can be very busy over the summer and school holidays. The pay is NMW which is not good because you are asked to work long hours, day after day.

The promise of my own accommodation was shattered the day I arrived when I found I'd be sharing with a stranger and no locks on the bedroom door. Split shfts of back breaking work left me to tired to do anything else. The promised ID badge didn't materialise in the two weeks I was there , so no ID , no staff discount. The discounted staff canteen is where no stomach dare to go, the macaroni cheese gave me d and v for 3 days.
The accommodation that you pay nearly 60 pound a week for is out of the 's and was in poor condition. Not a place I would recommend, even in times of financial desperation. Pros Packing to leave.
Cons The bang on my head i obviously had when i applied. Hard, stressful job, with minimum salary. Working in Butlins is good if you are teens or young person. It is good for your first job but not longer then a year. But if you survive a year over there , especially in accomodation department you will survive in any other jobs in the world, this is like a real " school of life" Always getting minimum wage even being a team leader with many years experience.
Pros Job security, use facilities for free, working hours. No time for family. Was working in the shop department. Staff there are a very clicky with higher management,very much a case of if your face don't fit you won't last. I was the only person in the department working 10 hour shifts and my manager was no help at all. Definitely only apply here as a last resort. Pros Free family passes. Cons Long hours, Managers are useless, Lo ng days if your face don't fit.

There is no work and life balance. You only get 1 day off a week. Pros Nothing. Cons Long hours, No time to have off. Not a great place to work. My time at Butlins wasn't great, for some people it's different, but being in the catering part, it wasnt great at all. Not enough communication with management about what is going on, I found it was more all for you self rather than work as a team.
I feel the pay I received wasn't enough for what I was doing and everything I was doing never got bought up in my interview, all the interview was about, was the menu and drinks menu and where the restaurant was going to be but I never saw the restaurant when I was there for the interview so I had no idea where I was going on my first day.
